Government stand on the Umbra Kato issue

The GPH panel has not received official communication on the status of Umbra Kato within the MILF. In the meantime we have accepted their representations during the last round of negotiations that Kato is their internal problem.

Our expectations are that the MILF can resolve this issue and therefore show their capabilities as leaders of the constituencies they are supposed to represent. In the meantime, we are deep into our preparations for the upcoming talks and the entire administration remains committed to the primacy of the peace process.
